Chamotte
Otavi supplies high class chamottes with more than 45% Al2O3 content which have low iron content and high homogeneity .They are used in the production of fired bricks and castables, as well in the welding industry.
Chamotte 47 HM is a chamotte with high refractoriness. The source is a pure kaolinitic clay, calcined at 1450°C. The processed fractions and powders show very low Fe2O3 and P2O5 contents, as well as a high apparent bulk density. Besides an amorphous amount the product contains crystalline phase mullite (3Al2O3*2 SiO2), as major phase and cristobalite (SiO2), as assessory phase.
Chamotte 60 HM a very high purity mullite-chamotte with high refractoriness.
Sourced from a high grade ”china clay“ deposit and processed in one of the most modern processing units in China, two superior qualities of chamotte are exclusively distributed by OTAVI in Europe.
Controllable dilatation during firing and an A-class CO-stability are the most outstanding
characteristics of both these products.
