The minerals supplied by OTAVI are an important component of the steel making process, from its initial stages of iron ore beneficiation and pelletisation, through to the casting of metal in its final shapes. OTAVI is a recognised supplier of specialty minerals to the metal-casting industry, especially the producers of continuous casting powders and granule.
Minerals form the basis of continuous casting products, whose function is to create a slag on the molten metal and act as a lubricant, a thermal regulator and a fluxing agent. OTAVI can offer minerals such as wollastonite, spodumene, bauxite, bentonite and perlite, either from the mines of the S&B Industrial Minerals S.A. or from selected partner companies.
